9:30 am: Morning Glories say hello, but Marigolds wither goodbye. I continue, stubbornly, hopefully, to water them.
10:00 am: I admire the pretty Anglican church across from my bus stop. I've always loved stained glass windows. Maybe some day I'll live in a house that's got some...
10:30 am: At work, with coffee in hand. Already 23°C, feels like 29°. Yowza. For those of you who don't know, I wilt in the heat, and so decided to photog my spontaneously co-operative hair before the humidity makes it go puff.
1:30 pm: Lunchtime! I ingest more caffeine, this time in the form of some Earl Grey tea. I also read more of the Potter book, which is actually a fail because I had meant to have finished re-reading it before I flounced off to watch the movie. I'm at the part where Harry's trying to get the memory off Slughorn.
3:30 pm: I share my break with a couple of rather entertaining sparrows.
5:30 pm: I arrive home, eat dinner, and ponder what to do with about 6 overripe bananas. There's also the issue of the mint that I've dried. Anyone know any good recipes/uses for either? Banana cream pie sounds fun, but what to do with the mint?
9:00 pm: Knit Night! I display part of my work after a few hours in good company and delicious drinks. While a baby knit it might be, I'm knitting for twins, and so it feels a bit unending. That and I've decided to do almost every adorable baby pattern that I've come across. These are the first babies I've gotten to knit for!
10:00 pm: Wee pin lights on in the kitchen mean it's chill time for me.

Make banana bread with those over ripe nanners! They're PERFECT! Yum!
Bananas : cream pie sounds yummy. banana bread is an option. Ice cream is another. Add lemon peels, a bit of sugar, milk, or even better coconut milk, and if you want to spice it up a tad of fresh ginger root. Mix everything, if you don't have an ice cream machine put in the freezer and take it out every half hour to break the ice with a fork until it's the right consistency.
Mint : mint tea of course ! I pick and dry mint every summer, enough to last all winter. But cold mint tea is also nice in the summer...
I love that rose ring!! and old stone churches are so lovely. I love the shape of the windows.

I make it all the time, give it as a gift, etc. It's a winner. I find I can get away with just using 2 03 bananas, but the recipe originally calls for 4. Maybe peel and freeze the rest, and save for future smoothies?
As for the mint- how about mint tea?

It's really hot here too. SO I don't use the oven much - I'd make banana cream pie with a graham cracker crust - one that doesn't need to be baked.
As for the mint - I absolutely love mint water. It's just fresh spring water that I put in the refrigerator with a spring of mint in it. When it gets really cold and the mint has infused into the water, its soooo refreshing!

Beautiful pictures! Banana bread is a lovely thing, easy to make and easy to eat. ;)
It's very hot and humid here as well; I'm really looking forward to my holiday where there'll be some fresh ocean air hopefully. :)
In this heat, I'd freeze the bananas and use them as a base for smoothies (last night I drank a whole pitcher of mango/blueberry/banana/yogurt ones for dinner because it was too sticky and vile actually to eat anything).
