Retro 1940's Sweater

Here's a great retro sweater I made from Lorna's Laces, colours Daffodil and Charcoal. I added about 2 inches to the length, but it was still very short! Next time I make it, it'll have to be extended about another 2 inches!

That is GORGEOUS! I love those colors and the pattern is wonderful.

Your Anthropologie Capelet is cute, too. I saw that thread on Craftster and I had been thinking of making it. Did the WoolEase work okay? I have some of that in my stash. My office is so cold, I think I can see my breath sometimes.

It's funny that you are working on "Prepster." That is the pattern I bought that book to make, and so far I've made three things from it that are not Prepster! Isn't it a great book?

Speaking of books, you asked what I was reading. I've been dipping into old favorites here and there, but I'm not really reading anything except Passage to India. It's engaging me way more than I thought I would. I wasn't too familiar with the book before I started it, so I scouted around the web to see what it was about and what I read didn't really call out to me. Pleasant surprise that I am getting into it so much!

Bye for now,
Your KTC Swap Pal

Thanks :) I'm going to make another of those retro shirts, but in black and pink next time.
And thanks about the Anthropologie capelet. The WoolEase was great - nice and soft, and a perfect yarn substitute for the Rowan Polar called for in the patter. I used 1 and a bit of a second skein. (I have most of the second skein left over). My workplace is really cold too!

I was just working on my Prepster today too! I've finally sewn the pieces together, and now have to do the finishing touches. And, oddly enough, it's also the pattern I bought the book for, and had not been the first pattern I've made from the book! (I've already done the one-skein scarf and Sweet Pea shawl).

I've still to get my hands on a copy of Passage to India. It didn't really appeal to me by the onlnine summaries I read either, but sometimes books can surprise you!

Yes, I'm an archive reader. This is too cute. Thanks for the links to all the patterns.

Thanks so much! I really loved making it. It's been long enough now since I've made this one, I think I need to CO for it again. I just rediscovered the yarn I bought over a year ago for this exact purpose!

I'm so glad there someone else making this top too. I love it! I've had plans (ever since I finished the first one) to do one in black and hot pink. Hmmm, maybe that's next on the needles. I happen to have this terrible habit of knitting out of season. It's really quite frustrating!
