Quick post:
Sometimes (ok, often) I have total duh moments.
That happened today whilst knittin-upon my new obsession, Tareja.
Originally I imagined adding pretty matte-gold-coloured bead details along certain rows.
I even figured I could hold a piece of thread along with the yarn itself, and then slip the wee beads onto this, à la this neato tut.
And so I did, realizing in the process that I don't even wear clothes with beads on them in the first place. Why add them to my knitting? So I did about five, and here you see what it looks like. Now at least I can say that I know how to add beads to knitting. That tut is really quite good.
Off to watch some Mythbusters!

just wanted to let you in on another beading trick-- oral b makes these things called super flossthat you can use the same way as the wire, but they are cheaper (so when you lose one, it's no big deal; you have a stash of FIFTY), and if you get the mint flavored ones, your hands smell fresh afterward!
Hehe...I've definitely had the same sorts of, "Wait a sec, why am I doing this? I don't even like this!" moments. But hey, even if you don't like beads on clothes, what you've done looks absolutely lovely.
I also attempted beading on one project - Sahara, which called for Tilli Thomas. Too expensive I thought. I am proud to say I managed to self-bead the project, but dang I should have just splurged. I'm not much of a bead wearer anyway, now that I think about it! lol
lol- I know exactly how you feel. I have a couple of top (not knitted, mind you) in my wardrobe that have beading around the neckline, and I never reach for them because I know in my heart that I am not a beaded clothing person. I love that yarn, by the way. looks amazing.

Well it looks very pretty nonetheless. I've had those moments too, usually after I have blocked and seamed, sigh.
