Book Review: "Alterknits"

Alterknits: Imaginative Projects and Creative Exercises
by Leigh Radford

Flipping through this book was thoroughly disappointing. Not very radical, and really a little boring. None of the projects jumped off the page, and any that were even ok would be easily designed by myself anyway (lace-up scarf / wrap). The inspirational quotes are kind of cheesy, this really isn't my kind of knitting book. Too polished, hoity-toity and boring.

Hi! I drew your name for the KTC Traveling Women swap. You didn't include your e-mail on your questionnaire, but I have your blog URL so if you think of anything else you want me to know, just note it here. I think this is going to be fun! Regards, Me

Hi!

I also didn't get your email (weird how that happened to both of us!) Have you done one of these before? It's my first one - and I think it'll be fun too!

I sent my e-mail with my questionnaire; you probably didn't draw me. I asked Melanie and she said she didn't intend to match people directly in pairs. I have you, but you probably have someone else.

This is my first swap and I'm glad I'm starting at KTC. What's better than knitting and books?

Ah, I see! (and it dawns on me - How else would it be anonymous?) :P

I do agree, there's nothing better than knitting and books! I'm an amazon.ca and chapters.ca addict. I order books far too often. This last batch includes the unabridged version of Les Miserables - I can't wait! I've never tackled a book quite so thick, but I love the story so much that I think I can do it. It's also a shame to base my love of the story on movies, so I must right that immediately!

What are you currently reading? (other than this month's book?)
